Every single time has been on a WordPress website of my own and every time, I have ranked high on the search engines and made many sales.
In this post, you are going to have a glimpse in what SEO I do for all of my WordPress websites. I will be giving you a list of the best SEO wordpress plugins, SEO WordPress themes and how I input my keywords into my posts. So get ready for learning some of the best seo for WordPress, and start ranking high on the search engines.
Best SEO for WordPress – Keywords
The best SEO for WordPress starts with proper keyword research. Many people think that they can use any keywords and you will get traffic. This is totally wrong. You need to use a keyword research tool and find out what people are searching for and build your website around that keyword.
Let’s take one of my Golf websites which has had some of my best SEO for WordPress tactics.
I knew the Golf niche was a very popular niche and had hungry buyers as well. So I went to the Google Adwords Keyword Tool to find the keyword I wanted to use. I started off simple in looking for my keyword, I used ‘Golf’ to start off with. After seeing what the Google Keyword Tool gave me, I found out that the ‘Golf Slice’ was a huge problem in the Golf niche.
So I then put in ‘Golf Slice’, and the Keyword Tool gave me a list of words like: ‘Fix golf slice’, ‘cure golf slice’, ‘Golf Slice Exercises’.
Now I looked at these keywords and thought to myself, “If someone is looking for a ‘Cure’, they must be pretty serious about fixing this problem.”
So after putting in ‘Cure golf slice’ and related terms that had the word ‘Cure’, I came up with the keyword ‘Curing The Golf Slice’. This was my keyword I was going to base my website around. I also took some very similar keywords with little competition and high searches per month, because I will be making posts with them and driving more traffic to my WordPress site.
Best SEO for WordPress – Domain Name
Now that I had my keyword, which had very little competition and a high amount of searches per month, now I needed a domain name with this keyword inside it. This is very crucial when you are looking for the best SEO for WordPress. I now had purchased a domain name with my exact keyword. If you cannot find a .Com, domain, you can use .Org, .Net, or a .Ca
If for some reason you cannot find a domain with your exact keyword, use a variant like this if your keyword is ‘Body Building’–> BodyBuildingTips.com <– Remember to always have your keyword first and the variant after. Do not add hyphens or numbers in-between your keyword, before, or after.
Best SEO for WordPress – Themes
Now that you have your keyword and your domain, your next step is to build your website all around your one keyword and it’s variants. So now you want to install WordPress on your new domain name and choose a theme. Below you will find a few themes I use for the best seo for WordPress.
1: Theme MX – Best theme with the highest and best SEO for WordPress. I ranked 3 pages of my website all on the first page of Google with this theme.
2: Thesis Theme – A bit confusing theme to setup, but once it is, can be very powerful seo for wordpress.
3: Genesis Theme – A simple theme with many looks to choose from. The SEO is great but the other two are better.
Best SEO for WordPress – Images
When adding images to your website, always remember to change the name of it for the best SEO for WordPress. Many people have images named like this, Pics123.jpg Which should be changed to –> YourKeyword.jpg
Make sure you do this to all of your images before uploading them to your websites.
You also want to add an ALT Text to your image, which should be your keyword once again. You can also add a description which you can add a sentence that includes your keyword. “Body Building Tips and Tricks for anyone looking to gain more muscle fast.”
If you hover your mouse over my image at the top of this post, you’ll see my keyword come up.
Make sure you do all of this to your images for the best SEO for WordPress.
Best SEO for WordPress – Content
When writing content, you want to write about 500 words of good content that also includes about 5% of your keywords and variants. In your content, your keywords should be Bolded, Italicized, and Underlined. If you look carefully at this post, you will see my keyword is ‘Best SEO for WordPress’. You will also notice throughout the post, it is bolded, Italicized, and underlined. I also have it in my H1, H2, and H3 tag, and sometimes I’ll include it in an H4 tag.
I make sure I have my keywords in the beginning and the very end, in my title, and also throughout the post. Make sure you are not keyword stuffing, because that is bad.
I make this step 1000x easier by using a plugin, which I’ll get into very soon.
Best SEO for WordPress – Permalinks
Permalinks are the urls of your posts and pages. When WordPress is brand new, it is default to have numbers as your URL. Which does no good for seo. So if you go into your back office of your WordPress, under Settings and Permalinks, select Custom Structure, and input–> /%postname%
This will take the title of your post and make it the URL. This is the best SEO for WordPress. You can also include the category, but it’s up to you.
